Off-snow student care
Whilst the course is an opportunity for you to expand your horizons and get the most from the time you spend abroad there will always be the guidance of the BASI GAP team should things go wrong. Whether it is for medical reasons or just a shoulder to lean on, the BASI GAP team will be there to help, should your require it. All our BASI GAP resorts have local offices which are accessible to students. Our team have lived and worked in their resort for a number of years so they are very experienced in dealing with student and resort issues.
Required Standard
The standard of entry to the BASI GAP Course is the same as the BASI Alpine Level 1 Instructor Course requirements: Be able to ski parallel/ride confidently, coping with a variety of conditions, and have completed roughly 10 week skiing/riding on snow, ski/ride confidently on black runs, being able to make rhythmical turns close to the fall line at a steady pace. Be confident to ski/ride in control in off-piste conditions.
If you are interested in joining the course you will be put in contact with one of our trainers. He will ensure that you are of the appropriate standard and will be able to answer any questions you may have. If you are still unsure of your standard you may wish to attend one of our Ski Assessment days that we run throughout the summer at the UK indoor slopes. Please contact us for more information
